SAN DIEGO, (September 4, 2012) – EDF Renewables, formerly enXco, today announced the addition of Ryan Pfaff as Executive Vice President – Transactions. In this position he will provide strategic leadership to EDF Renewables’ wind and solar business units as well as direct the valuation, transaction and construction activity for all new projects.
Mr. Pfaff brings 15 years of international renewable energy experience to EDF Renewables. He joins the company from The AES Corporation, where he was Vice President and Head of Global Wind Development with responsibility for global wind business development, project finance and construction. As a member of AES Wind Generation’s executive leadership team, he played a key role in defining and executing the company’s wind energy business strategy, and in growing the business from an initial base of 102 megawatts in the US, to over 1,700 megawatts in operation or construction across six countries.
Prior to AES, Mr. Pfaff spent 8 years in progressive business development and project finance roles with SeaWest WindPower. As Executive Vice President, Project Development and Finance, he was part of the senior management team responsible for the successful turnaround, and ultimate sale of the company to AES in 2005.
Prior to entering the energy business, Mr. Pfaff worked in commercial banking with Credit Suisse First Boston and Union Bank of California. He graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentration in Finance.
