ESCONDIDO, CA. (February 17, 2009): enXco, an EDF Renouvelables Company (PARIS: EEN), and MidAmerican Energy Company have announced the commissioning of the 102 turbines of the Walnut Wind Farm.
enXco Development Corporation began construction of the Walnut Wind Project, located in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, in June 2008. MidAmerican Energy Company and enXco agreed in the fall to expand the project from 100.5 MW to the current 153 MW. The project, owned by MEC, represents the 5th project built for the group for a total of 595 MW.
“The Walnut Wind Project serves as another example of the solid working relationship between MEC and enXco, and the fast pace the two organizations can bring projects to successful completion. The expansion occurred under similar circumstances to our Pomeroy Project and demonstrated the ability of both organizations to quickly adapt to change,” said Tristan Grimbert, president and CEO of enXco.
enXco Service Corporation will provide operations and maintenance for the turbines, as well as provide 24/7 remote monitoring and fault resets from their Operations Control Center in Chandler, Minnesota.
