SAN DIEGO and HOUSTON, TX (September 6, 2012): – EDF Trading and EDF Renewables have signed an Energy Management Agreement to optimize management of the Bobcat Bluff wind project in Texas.
EDF Trading will act as the qualified scheduling entity and will provide energy management services for EDF Renewables’ 150 MW wind project currently under construction in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). The plant is expected to become operational in December 2012.
The services provided by EDF Trading will include scheduling, short term energy management, assistance with long term hedging, marketing of renewable energy credits, IT and platform support, settlement services and compliance and audit support.
“We have a great platform in place in North America and offer energy management services to a wide range of customers in practically every region”, said John Rittenhouse, Chief Executive of EDF Trading. “An important part of what we do is working alongside other EDF group companies, which is why I’m pleased that we are able to announce our first collaboration with EDF Renewables. We have a great relationship and I look forward to us working more closely together in the future,” he said.
“We are delighted to have selected EDF Trading after a competitive process to manage our first owned project in ERCOT,” said Tristan Grimbert, President and CEO of EDF Renewables. “We look forward to continuing our cooperation with EDF Trading as well as a successful project in Texas.”
